| Marsia Holzer Studio is Committed to Salvaging Huge exotic trees that have fallen in storms-nothing is cut. A look of organic simplicity is archieved by the hand-crafting bases of bronze, steel, or glass that complement each unique piece of wood, resulting in huge slab tables that seem to float. Many of them retain the natural shape of the tree, with the blond sapwood running down the sides as though the wood was still in the forest. |

For her lighting, Marsia scours the beaches of the Hamptons in her kayak for driftwood bases, which are later cast in different metals. Working with the foundry deep in the heart of scotland, she creates table and floor lamps with cast bronze bases in arbolreal shapes, complete with drum shades of parchment or fine Irish linen. Other materials of choice include rare woods and organic crystals. |
